Hi,
I bought one of those fake wii remotes on ebay. Surprising feels just as good made as a real one but I cannot get it to work with my laptop.
It is designed to work with the wii so there shouldn't be any problem connecting as normal as it is probably the same inside.
I am using windows 10 and pretty sure my notebook has bluetooth 4.0 so is that why I can't get this wii remote to connect at all? It doesn't even show up in the blue tooth list.
If I get a blue tooth v2.0 dongle, this one : http://www.msy.com.au/viconline/peripherals/1826-partlist-pl-btv2dongle-nano-usb-bluetooth-v2-dongle.html
Would I be able to connect to the wii remote to my notebook?
Thanks,

I have read where many 3rd party 'Wii' controllers/remotes do not work with the new motion controllers. yet others do??
I am mainly looking for 'extra remotes' for use in like the 'Steering Wheel' of Mario Kart, Madagascar Kart ect. and other 'Plastic Objects' (fishing pole, guns, swords. ect)
I have been looking at a number of remotes on eBay that look as if they are a near perfect 'clone' which come with the 'Nunchuck' for less than $20.00 shipped.
Has anybody here had any experience with any of these controllers??
I have read where the 'Nintendo Licenced Nyko Wands' are a piece of !! and cost almost the same as a standard Nintendo remote?!?

Keep in mind that you can only have a couple of remotes actually synced to any particular Wii at one time. Once you reach the limit (ten, including Balance Board) it will forget the first one synced. Additionally, if the Nyko clone is terrible, that does not bode well for the extremely cheap ebay China-clones.
In other words, don't bother. Get four regular Nintendo branded Wii remotes and call it a day.

Concur w/ darklordjames here - go with the real deal when dealing w/ Wiimotes. From what I hear, the Nyko Wands - incl those w. Motion Plus built in - are decent to good. But better safe than sorry.
For some time, I used a Nyko Wing in lieu of a Wii Classic Controller (which is just damned uncomfortable, IMO) for Tatsunoko Vs Capcom until I invested in the Fight Stick (which itself makes for a decent to awesome Classic stand-in for some Virtual Console stuff). But it looks like Ninty's own Classic Pro will be the way to go for traditional gamepad play on Wii.

I received the 'Hong Kong' 3rd party 'WiiMote + Nunchuck' today.
Shipping time from 'Hong Kong' to Kansas was 11 days.
Original eBay total cost before discounts was: $17.32 w/Shipping : I paid after eBay Dollars discount was: $9.99
In November 2009 I paid a total of : $53.50 {w/Local Taxes} : at my local 'Target' store for a second original Nintendo WiiMote w/WiiPlay + Nunchuck retail packaging.
There was no form of retail packaging, or batteries with the 'Hong Kong' 3rd party 'WiiMote + Nunchuck' and were shipped in a bubble envelope and each item was wrapped in bubble wrap, along with a 5% discount if ordered from their web site.
The remote came with a standard clear Nintendo silicone glove/sleeve and wrist straps that even have the Nintendo markings on it.
I was ready to up load pictures as I thought that I would of found some sort of visual difference between my Nintendo remote and the 'Hong Kong' remote, but the digital pictures could not pick up the slight differences.
[1] COLOR [1]
The original Wii remote is slightly a darker white. but the difference is like the difference between white printer paper. your standard copy paper has a brightness of around 85 -> 90 points while the higher grade paper has a brightness of 90 -> 110 points, the 'Hong Kong' remote has a brightness closer to 95point while my original remote is closer to the 90point paper. the color difference could simply be due to sun fade or game play use of the original remote.
[2] MARKINGS [2] {There is some Chinese marking on the inside but to my eye they are the same on the two remotes.}
FCC Coding:
My original Nintendo WiiMote : No FCC markings inside of the battery compartment:
Marking on side of remote:
CE0125
ACN 060 566 083
FCC ID:UMB-WCF7
IC:6719A-WCF7
'Hong Kong' WiiMote : FCC marketing's inside of battery compartment match the marking on side of remote:
CE0125
ACN 060 566 083
FCC ID:POD-WC45
IC:4250A-WC45
Other than the product ID markings above the only difference between the two remotes is that the 'Hong Kong' WiiMote has a small notch in the battery separator in the middle of the battery compartment, and what I will call the mold number on the raised area next to the sync button:
Nintendo WiiMote : C9EF431 Nintendo (stamped)
'Hong Kong' WiiMote : ZDJTE-10
The Nunchuck has no difference {other than the color difference noted above} between my Nintendo and this 'Hong Kong' 3rd party remote as they both even have Nintendo stamped on the remote-plug.
I am now off to test it out with game play. I will report back later..

My 'Hong Kong' WiiMote + Nunchuck purchase seems to be working just as good as my original remote with the following games after about three hours of game play:Mario Kart Wii
Wii Play
Rabbids Go Home
Just Dance
:Speaker, Vibration, Motion all worked the same as with my original Nintendo remote and I am using a 'no name brand' rechargeable 1800mAh batteries with the remote and while it is really hard to test the following. it seems that this remote lasted longer before I got a low battery warning? I have not tested the new 'Motion Control' Add-on. but I have read where even some Nintendo Original remotes have troubles with this new add-on.
I have done a few searches for the FCC ID on the side of the 'Hong Kong' WiiMote and it seems that this is the FCC ID for remotes sold with the Wii consoles in England and Europe?!?
I even found where a end user even broke down this remote and took pictures of the insides of a WiiMote with the same FCC ID# which was sold at his local Target store with a web date of December 2006.
Next test will have to be time endurance and see if this WiiMote will last out the test of time..
First day of ownership I am happy with my purchase!

I found the following info on another forum:
Quote:
From what I can tell, Ninty outsourced the production of the Wii remotes. There are 2 manufacturers. The easy way to identify which one you have is through the FCC ID that is printed on the side. Mitsumi makes the ones with FCC ID of POO-WC45. Foxconn makes the ones with UMB-WCF7. You can search the FCC database for yourself here if you like:
http://www.fcc.gov/oet/ea/fccid/
My Wii came with a Foxconn remote. One of my friends has a Wii that came with the Mitsumi wiimote, which leads me to believe that both are legitimate 'Nintendo' controllers. I find it very unlikely that you would get a brand new Wii with a knock-off remote in the sealed box when buying from a major brick & mortar retailer. The Mitsumi version has darker colored paint for the Wii symbol, home button, etc. compared to the Foxconn.

Thanks for the updates, I'd be interested in any issues that come up.
Also, have you tried use the Motion Plus with this yet?

I have yet to try an official Nintendo Motion Plus add-on!
But the seller I used is now offering a bundle deal with: WiiMote, Nunchuck, and MotionPlus and he now offers it in all four colors, White, Black, Blue and 'Red/Pink'.. all three parts for less than $45 the last I checked.
Due to storms and other things (mainly season/series finals on TV) have not spent too much time playing games as I would of liked.

I just received a pair of the 'CLASSIC CONTROLLER PRO' style of controllers that plug into the WiiRemote {not the console}. I ordered from a different Hong Kong supplier, as the supplier of the WiiRemotes that I reviewed above had sold out of their shipment and did not expect to get more for 30+ days.. I have not had a chance to test them.. purchased mainly for the likes of 'Maro Kart' & the 'WiiWare / Classic' game downloads. I will report more as I know more..

I now have had a chance to test out the 'CLASSIC CONTROLLER PRO' that I received from a Hong Kong / China eBay reseller.
I received one While and one Black, unlike the 'WiiMote' these have no Nintendo or Wii markings (photo from web site attached), they were shipped in padded envelope and wrapped in bubble wrap.
They seem to be working just great! Playing 'Maro Kart' is a whole lot easier!!
Many pictures of the 'True Nintendo 'CLASSIC CONTROLLER PRO' show them having blue led high-lites about the '-', 'HOME'. & '+' buttons. where these controllers have no lights.
I paid $16.94 for the two of them shipped (le$$ than the cost of a single Nintendo branded controller!) and shipping took 13 days from day of eBay order to arrive in my mail box.
The question that I have some one that owns a 'Nintendo' branded 'CLASSIC CONTROLLER PRO' does it have 'Motion Sensor' like the Nunchuck or not as some resellers are listing this feature. 'IF' the 'Nintendo' branded 'CLASSIC CONTROLLER PRO' does have this feature then it might be missing from these controllers which might be why they are so much lower cost. Also the grip is a smooth plastic and I am afraid that after long game play they might slip out of my grip. (does anybody know of a silicone skin that fits this remote??)
Many of the 'Virtual Console' games that I have, while they may not list the 'CLASSIC CONTROLLER PRO' as a usable controller, I was able to play original 'Zelda' and 'Mario Brothers' with this controller. Playing 'ZAZZON' which does support the controller was much easier!!

Heh, you love the Hong Kong controller knockoffs, huh? Well, glad they're working out for you and thanks for the impressions. My original nunchuck is acting a bit wonky; maybe I'll replace it with something along these lines..

I don't 'Love' them, just looking for a low cost items which if past experience has taught me.. that game controllers break/ware out ..and I could not find any reviews or comments about these controllers else where so I took the time to write a small review.. If they did not work or I had troubles with them I would of written so.

1) Don't know as I don't own any GameCube Games.
2) I would say small hands = Classic Controller NOT 'PRO', as I went with the 'PRO' style due to the extra gripping area of my big hands.
I would suggest you go to a local WalMart Or GameStop and see if they have open boxes that you can 'Feel' the controller in your hands.

Nope. You can only use Gamecube controllers for Gamecube games on the Wii.
